Premier League: Live scores and updates from a huge day in the relegation dogfight as Forest come from behind to lead Sheffield United

15:29, 65′

GOAL! Sheff Utd 1-3 NOTTINGHAM FOREST!

Hudson-Odoi gets it right this time!

Just seconds after a massive chance for Brereton Diaz, Hudson-Odoi is gifted almost exactly the same chance he had just missed a few moments ago.

This time he curls it into the back of the net spectacularly to double the lead and get a third for Espirito Santo.

This should be the points in the bag for the visitors – provided they can manage the game properly…

15:28, 64′

Forest knocking on the door of a third

Callum Hudson-Odoi has already scored one worldie today but he’s come very close to a second!

This time he cuts inside and looks for that far post, but it just trickles wide.

Moments before Forest were in on goal again, but after doing brilliantly to get himself into a good position, Anthony Elang looks for the pass rather than going for the shot himself.

It’s been very open from the visitors, which I’m sure will be doing nothing for Forest fans’ nerves!

15:26, 62′

Fulham come close AGAIN!

Fulham have resumed their push for the opening goal in this second half, and Timothy Castagne has had the best chance so far.

In it comes from the corner, and the Belgian full back gets up well, but sends his header just over the bar.

We’re only just past the hour mark but it’s beginning to look like we’re not going to get a goal today…

15:18, 55′

GOAL! Burnley 0-4 NEWCASTLE!

Isak makes up for his mistake!

From zero to hero, Isak makes it four at last.

Almost immediately after missing from 12 yeards, Newcastle fly forward, and Murphy plays Isak striaght through on goal and he gets that 20th goal of the season!

Game, set, match, tournament and grand slam for Newcastle, surely?

15:17, 55′

MISSED PENALTY!

Isak misses!

It’s a poor effort and Muric guesses the right way to keep the Swedish star out!

15:16, 53′

GOAL! Sheffield Utd 1-2 NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Ryan Yates gives Forest the lead!

The visitors are ahead for the first time in the tie, and it’s Mr. Forest himself Yates who steers home their second after an assist for defender Willy Boly.

How huge could that goal be for the Tricky Trees?!

15:15, 52′

PENALTY to Newcastle

It’s a penalty for Newcastle!

Anthony Gordon has his shurt tugged by Josh Brownhill inside the box and down he goes.

15:15, 51′

Early chance for Burnley

Burnley have been positive though over at Turf Moor, with Lyle Foster having a chance, but he’s smashed his effort over the bar in what was the most promising opportunity for the hosts in a long old while.

And things are about to go from abd to worse for the Clarets…

15:12

Back underway across the grounds

Right we’re back underway across the grounds already.

Andreas Pereira has already had a speculative attempt for Fulham as we STILL await a goal in that one, but nothing that will give Flekken much to think about.

The Blades have started brightly in the second half against Forest, too.

15:10

Nuno’s system change ‘baffling’

TOM COLLOMOSSE AT BRAMALL LANE:

The more I watch this, the more baffled I am that Nuno has reverted to the back four. Centre-backs Murillo – who has saved Forest at least twice – and Boly have no protection from Yates or Danilo in front of them, and full-backs Aina and Montiel have been exposed regularly.

15:08

HT REPORT: Sheff Utd 1-1 Nott Forest

And last but not least, to Bramall Lane.

It’s been an end-to-end thriller really, with Wood missing a golden chance in the first two minutes.

The hosts then got the opener after a really rash challenge from Montiel as Brereton Diaz converted from the spot, but Forest were soon back level through Hudson-Odoi, a beauty into the top corner.

The Blades then knocked, and knocked, and knocked some more, but weren’t able to get past Sels, and at the break it’s a very level tie.

Plenty of thrills coming from this one, but can Forest get the win that puts some daylight between them and the Championship?

15:04

HT REPORT: Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Well, not exactly a goal-fest, but still a decent game over in west London.

Fulham edged that first half with Flekken called upon on a number of occasions, with Iwobi looking particularly dangerous – he’s clearly got a great understanding with Pereira, who pulls all the strings in the middle of the park for the visitors, but there’s still no cutting edge.

For Brentford, it’s hardly been backs-to-the-walls stuff – Mbeumo has hit the bar, and Lewis-Potter has been a danger cutting in off the left, and the Bees have had three shots on target to the visitors’ one.

It’s a straight-forward one, really: both sides have shown themselves to be a threat, but neither seems to ahve their shooting boots on right now.

14:59

HT REPORT: Burnley 0-3 Newcastle

Let’s start with Burnley vs Newcastle.

So it started off with the hosts absolutely racing up the field in a bid for an early goal, but after having a penalty shout go begging, they ended up going one behind.

Callum Wilson scored the first, before Sean Longstaff and Bruno Guimaraes hit twice in a handful of minutes to make it 3-0 before the break and all but end Burnley’s hopes in this one.

After their first flurry, the Clarets just couldn’t get themselves into dangerous areas, and they have been shell-schoked ever since that Wilson strike.

14:54

HALF-TIME across the grounds

Half-time across the grounds after what feels like a breathless first half of football this afternoon.

Still goalless at Brentford, but Newcastle have put three past Burnley and Sheffield Utd and Forest are putting one something of an end-to-end classic over at Bramall Lane.

Phew – take a breather everyone, and will run through all the action so far in time for the second half!

14:53, 51′

Into the wall from Gordon

Anthony Gordon wins a free-kick on the stroke of half-time at Turf Moor in a dangerous area.

But rather than send Burnley well and truly packing, he sends it straight into the wall in surely the last big chance of the half.

14:50, 50′

Sub for Brentford

And there’s a re-shuffle at Brentford, with Ajer forced off for Roerslev.

A centre back off for a midfielder is never a change any manager will want to make, but thankfully he just needs to see off the last couple of added minutes before half-time when he can reset.

14:48, 47′

Change for the hosts

An injury to Esteve as he’s replaced by Ekdal inside added time.

14:47, 45′

Still goalless in west London

Still no goals from west London, but Keane Lewis-Potter comes close.

The wide man cuts in off his left wing to attempt the most contemptuous of dinks over Bernd Leno but Issa Diop gets back fantastically to ut him off.

No goals yet, but definitely not a snore-fest in the derby!

14:42, 42′

GOAL! Burnley 0-3 NEWCASTLE

They’ve got another! Bruno Guimaraes with the goal.

This is turning ugly for the hosts – that’s the 73rd goal they’ve conceded all season!

Newcastle are well in their rhythm now as Gordon slides it across to Guimaraes to tap home after it looked for all the world like the England starlet was going to have a go himself.

It’s not even half-time, but you really worry for Burnley being able to get back into this one.

14:41, 41′

Blades pushing for a second

Sheffield United get chance after chance as they lay siege to Nottingham Forest’s goal.

Brereton Diaz, Hamer and Archer all come close, but Sels holds firm in the net for the visitors.

Archer in particular will be kicking himself, after he went throguh one on one, but a heavy touch let him down and it’s still all level at Bramall Lane.

14:37, 37′

GOAL! Burnley 0-2 NEWCASTLE!

Sean Longstaff!

‘Sean Longstaff, he’s one of our own!’ sing the crowd.

In truth it’s good work from Wilson and Murphy to tee up the goal, but it’s still a great finish from inside the box after Murphy’s cut back.

Burnley were great in the opening exchanges but they’ve just picked up one heck of a double suckerpunch.

Long way back now for Kompany’s side.

14:37, 37′

Fulham cranking up the pressure

Alex Iwobi continues to be the go-to guy on the counter for Fulham, and is playing brilliantly in partnership with Pereira in the middle.

Flekken is called upon again to claim a Willian cross, before saving well from an Iwobi effort.

Fulham ratcheting up the pressure now in the derby…

14:35, 34′

All Newcastle at Turf Moor

Burnley came flying out of the blocks, but their backs are to the wall at the moment.

Newcastle have been flooding forward, and Wilson and Livramento link up to create a chance the really should have doubled the lead for the visitors, but Muric is able to get something behind the ball.

All Magpies right now, but that goal from Bramall Lane will be trickling in soon with Burnley looking to get out of the bottom three today.

Gordon has a brilliant shot saved well again by Muric – he’s been a busy boy this afternoon!

14:30, 30′

Del Piero-esque from Hudson-Odoi!

TOM COLLOMOSSE AT BRAMALL LANE:

For all their poor play, Forest have individual quality in attacking positions to bail them out – exactly as we saw Hudson-Odoi there.A finish reminiscent of a young Alessandro Del Piero (for those lucky devils young enough not to have seen him play, look him up on YouTube)

14:28, 28′

GOAL! Sheffield Utd 1-1 NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Callum Hudson-Odoi!

The visitors are back in it and in some fashion!

The former Chelsea star puts one right int he top corner from the edge of the box to draw the Tricky Trees back level with a massive goal in the relegation battle!

14:25, 24′

Still goalless at Brentford

Right then Fulham and Brentford, can you match us?

Nothing in the shape of goals so far in west London, but Andreas Pereira has a dig from range, which he won’t really be wanting to see again.

The visitors remain on top, though, with Flekken’s penalty area for Brentford seemingly at constant threat right now, with Iwobi again a dangerous outlet for Fulham.

14:22, 21′

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Newcastle

Callum Wilson!

Just second start of 2024, but Wilson gives the visitors the lead against the run of play!

It’s a tap in for the England international after a great ball from Murphy and now the Clarets, despite their dominance so far, have it all to do!

14:20, 20′

‘Dreadful’ start for the visitors

TOM COLLOMOSSE AT THE
