Sebi revises penalty norms for stock brokers to remove ‘stigma’

Stock market regulator Sebi has streamlined penalty rules for brokers, introducing a single penalty per violation across exchanges. The number of penalties has been drastically cut from 235 to 90, with many minor lapses now facing financial disincentives instead of penalties.
