FIIs caught chasing these 10 smallcap stocks in March quarter

Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) share by value in companies listed on NSE went down to 17.68% as on March 31, 2024 from 18.19% as on December 31, 2023. In value terms, FII holding stood at Rs 67.29 lakh crore. This was an increase of 3.34% over the last quarter, says a report by Prime Database. In terms of ownership by number of shares or share by volume (Average of ‘FII Holding as a % of Total Share Capital’ across all NSE listed companies), FII share went up to 5.89% as on March 31, 2024 from 5.82% on December 31, 2023. Here is a list of smallcap stocks compiled by Prime Database where FII holding saw an increase in percentage terms for the quarter ended March 2024:

FII holding witnessed an increase of more than 3 times in Vertoz Advertising, where only 7.14% stake was held by FIIs in December 2023, which has now gone up to 23.05% in March 2024.

​Genus Power Infrastructures

From merely a 2% stake in Genus Power in December 2023, FIIs have increased their holding to nearly 17% in the company.

CMS Info Systems witnessed a 1258 bps difference in FII shareholding, which is up to 36.3% in Q4 vs 23.8% in Q3.

Industrial Investment Trust witnessed a jump of 7 times in its FII holdings QoQ. The holding is up to 14.7% from 2.7%.

From holding less than a percent in Ganesha Ecosphere for the December quarter, to a holding of 9% in March quarter, the company saw an increase of 904 bps in FII holding.
